Bringing “Connecting Generations” to Life Through Space, Visual Storytelling and Experience
In October 2026, the 88th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Hematology was held at the Kyoto International Conference Center.
The congress theme was:
“Bloodlines of Discovery: Generations in Hematology”
The theme reflected a commitment to passing knowledge, experience, and scientific curiosity from one generation to the next, helping shape the future of hematology.
Working in collaboration with Japan Convention Services (JCS), Dorier Japan was responsible for the spatial and visual experience of the main hall and opening ceremony. To help participants experience the congress theme firsthand, the event combined stage design, visual content, lighting and AI-powered experiences.
Turning Space, Visual Content and Experience into One Story
The opening experience traced the history of hematology and the accumulation of scientific knowledge across generations.
The experience was extended through synchronized LED wristbands distributed to attendees. As the sequence reached its conclusion, the wristbands illuminated in unison, visually expressing that every participant gathered in the room is part of the ongoing transmission of knowledge and aspiration to future generations.

The opening ceremony also featured a dialogue between Congress President Seishi Ogawa and OGAWA LENS, an AI developed using his published research and public statements.
The performance connected accumulated knowledge with the experience, perspective and aspirations of today’s researchers, offering a new interpretation of the congress theme.
To extend the opening experience beyond the ceremony, OGAWA LENS was made available to participants throughout the congress, allowing attendees to engage in conversations with the AI featured in the opening ceremony.
Dorier will continue to combine spatial design, visual storytelling, technology and participatory experiences to transform key messages into memorable experiences and create meaningful environments that leave a lasting impression on participants.
