In March 2025, the 22nd Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Medical Oncology (JSMO) hosted a unique outdoor hospitality event titled “Kobe Night Picnic – Discover the City’s Hidden Charms” at the Civic Square on Port Island, Kobe.
Dorier Japan was in charge of technical production and creative direction, delivering a fully immersive lighting and spatial experience that complemented the academic theme of the conference.

Lighting Design & Projection Mapping
To reflect the conference theme of Precision Oncology, the lighting concept incorporated symbolic elements of the night sky and ocean waves, brought to life through high-output LED PAR lighting and video projection. This combination created an ethereal environment that evoked a sense of hope and harmony.
Lantern Tower Installation
A striking lantern tower was installed at the heart of the square, inspired by Awa Odori, a traditional dance originating from Tokushima Prefecture. This soft and atmospheric lighting feature added a distinctly local cultural touch and served as a warm visual accent within the space.
Stage Lighting
Dynamic stage lighting was designed to match the flow of live performances, including a jazz ensemble and a cultural dance segment. Carefully controlled transitions of color and intensity enhanced the immersive quality of the evening program.
At Dorier Japan, we integrate technology and creativity to shape a sustainable future, delivering innovative solutions tailored to each event’s unique vision.
